Research your keyword

First, you need to research your keyword.

Google’s Keyword Planner is arguably the best tool for researching keywords that are relevant to your blog or website.

The next step is looking up how often those keywords were searched in Google Search Console (formerly known as Webmaster Tools).

Use that keyword

Now that you’ve got the keyword, it’s time to expand on this by adding it into your main content. This is where the hard work of SEO comes in!

The best way to ensure that Google understands what your page is about is to use this keyword at least once per 100 words.

You can use this same technique with keywords such as “best” or “latest” too; just make sure there are enough variations of these terms throughout each piece of content so that Google knows what topic(s) each article covers.

Add internal links

The next step is to add internal links.

If you have a blog, it can be helpful to link between posts so readers get an idea of what else you’ve written about a similar topic or subject matter.

By adding internal links within each post as well as linking between different posts on your website (or blog), Google will recognise this as valuable signals showing how good your content really is!

Give back

A link is a link, even if it’s a nofollow.

That said, it’s always good practice to only give out links where they are relevant to your content and not just for the sake of gaining more backlinks.

Check your URL

One of the most important steps you can take to improve blog SEO is to ensure that your content has a keyword in the URL.

The best way to do this is by creating a unique title for each post and then adding that title as part of the URL

That’s it! It may sound like a lot of steps, but the payoff is worth it—your blog will get more visits and hopefully some links from other sites as well.
